ProjectSymbols version 4 Pre-Release available!

ProjectSymbols version 4 is an update of our CAD symbol library placement program. 

Users requesting the Pre-Release software will be asked a short survey about their AutoCAD use and current software they have installed.  This information will help ProjectMatrix guide the user through the installation of the software and identify any potential problems that may occur.  Listed below are the key features that have changed in the ProjectSymbols software.  The most noticeable change that users will see is the installation of the software. 

The installation has been divided into its two key components, the software (PSPlace) and the data (symbol libraries).  This change has helped provide a better way of installing the ProjectSymbols software in both a local and network environment.  Also, because of this change and the new configuration files that are needed, all previous libraries will need to be updated with the new symbol installation for the PSPlace program to properly detect them.  For this reason all pre-Release requests will be sent complete installation DVD to help in this process.  If the user currently accesses a library that is not supplied on our monthly DVD, please contact support@projectmatrix.com to make sure it will be available in a downloadable form.
Please note that symbol libraries will need to be updated for the ProjectSymbols version 4.  For this reason we recommend using the requested DVD for the initial installation of the program.

New features and changes to ProjectSymbols and the PSPlace program:

• Specify fabrics and finishes in AutoCAD
• Re-option previously placed AutoCAD blocks
• Updated Catalog Viewer in the symbol placement, the PSPlace program now uses the same viewer that is currently in the ProjectSpec program.
• Build and use StandardOption tables that work in both ProjectSpec and ProjectSymbols.
• Network installation of symbols to instantly update all network users with mfg updates.
• Combined symbol installations for both ProjectSymbols and ProjectWorkspace programs.
• Supported versions of AutoCAD are 2000 through 2007.
