Q. When trying to register, I get an 'Error 97' message.

This is due to the User Account Controls (UACs) on Windows Vista and Windows 7. You will need to disable these controls in order to bypass this error message and use the program. To do so, follow the appropriate instructions below:

For Windows Vista: Go to your Start menu and select "Control Panel". Then select "User Accounts". Select "User Accounts" one more time and then locate the link that says "Turn User Account Controls On/Off". On the screen that appears, uncheck the check box and click ok. You will then be prompted to restart your computer. When it boots back up you should be able to go straight into our software without any problems.

For Windows 7: Go to your Start menu and select "Control Panel". Then select "User Accounts". Locate the link that says "Change User Account Control Settings". On the screen that appears, drag the slider bar all the way down to the bottom to "Never Notify". Click OK and then you will be prompted to restart your computer. When it boots back up you should be able to go straight into our software without any problems.

Q. Why am I being asked to continually register my program when I have      already received a "Register Successful" message?

This probably means that you have an old system file on your computer. You can download a new file HERE. Once you download this file, please unzip and save it in your C:\WINDOWS folder and overwrite the existing file.

Q. Why can I install under Windows 2000 or XP, but can't run the software?

In the past months we have received more and more calls indicating many of our customers are switching over to Microsoft® Windows 2000® or XP. We are glad to hear it! This new operating system has many bonuses for the business user and also opens many new doors in the future for functionality we can add to our products. We are also receiving calls from users stating that they cannot run our software. We found this unusual as we fully tested all of our software and announced some time ago it will run under Windows 2000 or XP. Further research has shown that when users install software under 2000 or XP they do so under Administrative rights. Then when they login as a standard user, they cannot run the software. This is because they need to have their administrator grant them “Power User” status in Windows 2000 or XP. The reason for this is that the software needs to write to certain files native to it and Windows 2000 or XP thinks it is supposed to protect it from any writing by the “standard user.” Power user status does not have this limitation.

In general we support the two most current "R" versions of AutoCAD with an eye towards phasing out support for the third version.
